Upcoming Game: Warrior Cats - Clans of the Forest

The clans are coming to life.

For more than twenty years, Warrior Cats has taken readers into a world of wild cats, ancient prophecies, rival Clans, battles, friendships, and unforgettable adventures. Now, fans will finally be able to step directly into that world themselves.

The upcoming game, Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest (affiliate link), is set to release on October 23, 2026. It will be the first official Warrior Cats video game and is being developed by Bamtang Games and published by Trailmark Games in collaboration with Coolabi.

 

Create Your Own Warrior Cat

One of the most exciting parts of the game is that players won't simply control an existing character from the books. Instead, they can create their own Warrior Cat and decide what their character looks like.

That means players can imagine themselves as a member of one of the Clans and experience the forest from their own cat's point of view. Your character can then grow from an apprentice into a warrior while becoming involved in the challenges facing their Clan.

The game also features four different storylines, giving players the opportunity to experience the traditions, conflicts, and challenges of the four warrior Clans in different ways.

Explore the World of the Clans

The forest won't just be a background for battles. Exploration is a major part of the adventure.

Players will be able to travel through familiar territories associated with ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan, as well as visit important locations such as the Moonpool and the Island. The game promises opportunities to climb trees, follow scents, investigate the environment, gather materials, and discover hidden secrets.

For longtime readers, this could be one of the most interesting aspects of the game. Places that previously existed only in our imagination can finally become locations that we can actually explore.

Battles, Hunting, and Clan Life

Of course, being a warrior isn't all about exploring.

Players will have to defend their territory, hunt for food, complete quests, and face enemies. Combat uses turn-based RPG mechanics, allowing players to learn different moves and think about how they want to approach each battle. Even creatures such as mice, squirrels, and badgers can become dangerous opponents.

There are also crafting and den-related features, which should help make the experience feel more like living as a Clan cat rather than simply playing through a series of fights.

Familiar Faces

Although players create their own characters, they won't be alone in the forest.

The game includes recognizable characters from the Warrior Cats books, giving fans a chance to encounter some of the cats they've known from the novels. Official artwork has already shown characters including Brightheart, Tawnypelt, Tallstar, and Ivypool.

That mix of original characters and familiar faces could make the game particularly appealing to longtime fans.

A New Way to Experience Warrior Cats

What makes Clans of the Forest especially interesting is that it isn't simply retelling one of the books. Instead, it gives players the opportunity to create their own story inside the Warrior Cats universe.

You can choose a Clan, develop your character, explore the territories, battle rivals, uncover mysteries, and follow a destiny connected to StarClan. In other words, the game takes many of the ideas that make the books special and turns them into something interactive.

 

Warrior Cats - Clans of the Forest: Is It Multiplayer?

Another exciting feature is multiplayer, which gives players the chance to experience the world of Warrior Cats together. Instead of exploring the forest alone, players can team up with friends, take on challenges, explore Clan territories, and share their adventures. Multiplayer could make the game feel even more like being part of a real Clan, where cooperation and teamwork are just as important as individual skills. For fans who have always imagined creating their own Clan stories with friends, this could be one of the game's biggest highlights.

When Does Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest Release?

The official release is currently scheduled for October 23, 2026, with the game coming to PC and consoles, including Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The Forest Is Waiting

For fans who have spent years imagining what it would be like to live among the Clans, Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest could be a dream come true.

Instead of simply reading about apprentices training, warriors defending their borders, or cats receiving mysterious messages from StarClan, players will get to experience those ideas firsthand.

The Clans have spent decades living on the pages of books. This October, they are finally getting ready to step into the world of video games.

Cats in Split Fiction

Pet me or die.

Famous words said by a famous shapeshifter appearing as a cat in the co-op game Split Fiction (affiliate link). 

 

  

 

Split Fiction tells the story of two wannabe-authors, Zoe and Mio, who are desperate to publish. So desperate that they agree to be guineapigs for an experimental machine, with the hidden intention of stealing all their stories.

 

 

The game is challenging, when the timing of two players has to be perfect at times. But when it comes to boss fights and enemies, the difficulty setting can be changed to easier, separately for both players.

 

 

One of the story missions in Split Fiction is very heavily cat themed. Three spirit cats have escaped and ended up in tricky situations, and they need to be saved.

 

 

No Place Like Home game: Cat location

Some people have really liked the game No Place Like Home, including me. But unfortunately its technical execution is horrible, with a save deleting bug which still hasn't been fixed in 2026.

 

 

No Place Like Home is about collecting/vacuuming trash and recycling them, farming and collecting lots of cute animals to your farm. There are also some robot enemies.

There are so many animals in this game. Chicken, dog, cat, pigs, ducks, cows, foxes, raccoons, boars, deer, goats. 

 

 

I became addicted to No Place Like Home, playing for six hours straight, unable to stop. But it all came to an abrupt end when I got the infamous save deleting bug.

The only cat in the game is located in Lonely Hills: Quarry region. To be able to enter Lonely Hills you need rubber upgrade for your drill, which requires truffle. Pigs give you truffle. 

The cat is on the upper part/level of the quarry.

 

 

Honey is needed to befriend the cat. You get honey from beehives.

Tips

Here's a good and thorough guide for the game.

You can fast travel from your map. Took me too long to figure this out. No need to keep running around again and again. 

What is the game's currency, "preserved food"? It's NOT any food you can make with the kitchen. You need to actually preserve the food items with the preserver machine.

When upgrading a station/building (chicken coop, kitchen or whatever) you need to place the newer one on top of the old version. You are not allowed to put it anywhere else.

 

No Place Like Home: Save deleting bug 

Warning: Still in 2026 game No Place Like Home has a bug where the save will be randomly deleted. Even loading cloud save won't help. This bug happened to me after 25 hours of gameplay. Do not pay for this game.

Saving manually could delete the save file. Because I knew this I never dared to save manually, but my save disappeared nonetheless.  

There's a workaround for this bug that sometimes works. This didn't work for me. Start a new game, play through at least the tutorial and save. Go back to main menu and hit continue. This might load up your missing save.

By the way, normally never choose "continue" because it might load an older save. Always use "play" and choose the correct save. 

And there's another thing: the devs are sus, because they abandoned this game and copied its assets to another game. The new copy game based on No Place Like Home is called Fresh Start.

I placed the picnic blanket on my farm just to get rid of it (inventory is always full so make boxes). I never would have thought that chicken and cows are going to enjoy a picnic! Happy animals, happy life?

 

 

Chicken Party

One of the first missions is to get hats on chicken, and then a disco ball is needed because the chickens want to party! 

 

I liked No Place Like Home a lot, and I would have wanted to keep playing it for longer. There's just something about cleaning up areas, and gathering lots of animals to your farm. This game had potential, and I'm sad it's basically unplayable because of the save deleting bug.

A game for book lovers: Tiny Bookshop

The game Tiny Bookshop came out in two copies at the library, and no one was interested in borrowing them. Not even me, but I decided to make the sacrifice.

 

 

Luckily I did, because I really enjoyed the game. And best of all, I got lots of tips for new books to add to my reading list.

 

 

The most interesting example for me is Leonie Swann's Three Bags Full, where sheep solve the murder of their shepherd. This book was made into a movie this year, called The Sheep Detectives! That's a movie I want to see.

There are several Stephen King books in the game.

From a Finnish perspective, it is worth noting that the game also features Moomins and Alvar Aalto.

 

 

 

Cat in a bookstore?

In the game, you can adopt a dog, a cat, and... a murdered mascot. As long as you first find out who murdered the mascot.

 

 

In the first location of the game, you can get seagulls to become paying customers. In fact, you have to recommend suitable books to them. What kind of books do seagulls like? At least some crime books, and classics like Dracula. Surprisingly, bird books don't seem to be suitable for seagulls.

 

 

There's even a trophy for petting a sheep a hundred times. Of course, I did that right away.

 

 

Tiny Bookshop's book recommendation system is a bit broken. It can be frustrating, and even laughable.

 

 

Tiny Bookshop is a perfect game for those who like to both read books and play games.

 

How to get a cat in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Getting a cat in Assassin’s Creed Shadows (affiliate link) is fast and easy.

All you have to do is to unlock the hideout, which happens early in the story.

Then you have to pet a cat or kitten just once to unlock it for your hideout.

In the hideout in the build menu you can choose the animals tab, and place your animals where you like.

 

 

 

Where to find cats in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

I found my first cat in a back alley of the first town the game's story takes you, Sakai. Unfortunately there are no cats in this town's harbor, I checked. You'd think all the fish would lure them, but no.

New Tales from the Borderlands: Review

I love Tales from the Borderlands, I mean the first one. I have played it through too many times to count. I love everything about it, from the music to the story and humor. 

I had read all the bad reviews and comments about New Tales from the Borderlands, but of course I had to check it out myself. But I couldn't get it from the library because someone had stolen it. After a very long time I finally decided to request that the library get a new copy, but someone else had beat me to it.

While playing through the first episode I nearly fell asleep. Is this game really that boring? Probably.

 

 

Characters 

Anu is annoyingly anxious scientist. Octavio is her annoyingly stupid little brother. Fran owns a yogurt shop, and suffers from sweet rage syndrome.

But the best new character is... the sexy intern.

 

 

Out of the old characters Rhys is most prominently present. Fiona makes an appearance in the end. And Marcus of course narrates the whole thing. 

 

Robots 

And of course there are some robots, which once again are more interesting and entertaining than the humans. But of course they can't be as great as Gortys and Loader Bot in the original game, nor as Claptrap in the main series. No offence, Louie.

 

 

Endings 

Unlike the original, this new game has missable trophies, and many different endings. I was so pissed that I managed to get a good ending, but not the best one. There's no way I'm gonna play this again, especially when guides dictate every dialogue option, and still people comment that "this didn't work for me". 

 

  

Animals 

Juniper is Paco's little ratch, who helps to find the vault. Unfortunately she can get killed, if the relationships between the playable characters aren't good enough. So that's even more reason to keep choosing friendly conversation options.

 

 

The best part: Kicking a skag puppy warrants a death penalty. I loved it!

Resident Evil Requiem: Return to Raccoon City

"Tom Cruise and the Crying Woman" 

When Resident Evil Requiem (affiliate link) was finally announced, I was interested in a Resident Evil game for a first time in a long time for some reason. RE7 and RE8 didn't interest me, of those I only played the RE7 demo, which was disgusting. I only played through RE2 Remake once, even though Claire Redfield is my favorite game character. I didn't want to play RE3 Remake at all, even though it was on console. The only exception to the most recent ones has been RE4 Remake, which I managed to play through several times.

Why did I want to play Requiem? There are actually two reasons for that. The return to Raccoon City, and the option to choose a third-person perspective when playing. If this had been a 1st-person game like RE7, for example, I wouldn't have played it.

I reserved the game from the library, and it took a month and a half from the release date to get to the first reserver, which was me.

 

 

Resident Evil Requiem

Grace, the daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak's Alyssa Ashcroft, works for the FBI. For some strange reason, her boss sends her alone to investigate the hotel where Grace's mother was killed years ago.

Meanwhile, Leon S(exy). Kennedy suffers from the effects of the tea virus, and of course gets involved in the events.

 

 

Raccoon Cityn Ruins

For me, the highlight of the game was the return to Raccoon City, and specifically to its police station.

 

 

When the familiar music started to play...

 

 

Leon is still welcome, 28 years later.

 

 

I had tears in my eyes when I found the same photo of S.T.A.R.S. at the police station as in the original Resident Evil 2 game.

 

 

Spoiler: Tofu has survived in the ruins of Raccoon City for decades. That's what a true survivor is!

It's certainly unrealistic how much of Raccoon City remains in this game.

 

 

Grace Ashcroft 

Grace is like Ashley 2.0. I hate how helpless and insecure Grace is. What if we reversed the gender roles sometime?

 

 

The worst part is that the game doesn't try to scare you, it tries to make you vomit. The amount of gore and blood in Requiem is disgusting. This trend has been seen in Resident Evil games since at least RE7. And why the hell do the characters have to curse all the time? I already complained about it in RE2 Remake.

Unfortunately for me, Resident Evil Requiem has no replay value. The first (and last) playthrough took me just under 13 hours, and I was pretty lost at times.

 

 

Cats? 

But Resident Evil Requiem also has cats. At least in a painting that I managed to miss, of course, even though I tried to look for it. Does anyone have a screencap of Resident Evil Requiem's cat painting?

Crimson Desert: Cat adoption guide

How much I hate this game.

Too difficult boss fights even on the easiest difficulty, puzzles and quests that don't tell what to do, not to mention the constant bugs. Crimson Desert (affiliate link) is a game that doesn't hold the players hand. Some players love having to do things the hard way. Some hate that they have to check online guides constantly to be able to advance in the game. 

But ranting aside, this post is about cats and how to get them in Crimson Desert. Earlier I posted about cat armies in Crimson Desert. I played the game only because of its cats, and this guide has everything I learned about getting cats.

 

 

Crimson Desert: Cat taming guide

Cats (and other animals) are everywhere in this game, you'll have no problem finding them from early on. You can carry cats around and pet them, but that only gets you so far in bonding with them. 

 

 

If you are in a hurry to make a cat your own like I was, your best bet is to feed them legendary fish. But where to find legendary fish?

 

 

 

Crimson Desert: Legendary Golden Carp location

The first step towards adopting a cat fast is to feed them their favorite food. Cats like fish, especially the legendary ones. I first went for the legendary golden carp in chapter 2. It's a dangerous and difficult journey that early in the game, but if I could do it, you can do it. In this gameplay stream I make the journey to the golden carp successfully.

Legendary golden carp waits for you in north, in Silver Wolf Mountain area (around red marker on the map). 

 

 

You don't need a fishing pole for catching legendary fish. Just wait for the fish to come near you, and then jump in the water to catch them. 

 

 

Crimson Desert: Cat not eating fish 

How to feed the fish to the cat? Some guides suggest to carry the cat to a peaceful location, and then putting it down on the ground. After placing the cat down it might run away, so follow it. Discard the fish in front of the cat. Once the cat eats the fish you get maximum 100 bonding with it, and the cat is yours.

Pro tip: Carry the cat somewhere where there are no other cats. Discard the fish first, and only after that drop the cat. This way the cat is most likely to eat the fish, instead of running away from you. 

 

 

 

Crimson Desert: Cat ride on shoulder

How to make your cat ride on your shoulder? Crouching helps with that, but how to make the cat to stay on your shoulder permanently?

 

 

You need the pet tutorial for that, but how to get it? You have to advance enough in the main story. In chapter 4 faction quest The Nag and the Stubborn One becomes available, and can be started from your camp by talking to Andrew. 

 

 

In this questline you have to adopt a dog, and reach bonding level 100 with it. Just pet it, feed it lean meat (available from a local shop) and go to sleep. I had to sleep only once for 12 hours (on the nearby blacksmith's bed, upstairs from him), then I fed the dog again and reached bonding level 100.

 

 

When you finally get the full use of Sigil of Bonding (scroll down for instructions on how to get it), your cat will stay on your shoulder even during some more rough movements like running, rolling, riding, swimming and flying. 

 

 

But sadly the cat will always disappear when the player enters a cutscene, or just talks to an NPC. Boo!

 

 

 

Crimson Desert: Cat town location

Pororin village is located south, in Hernand Highlands. This town is full of cats, and shai children. 

 

 

To be able to enter the village you first have to do a couple of quests. Here's a guide if you need one.

 

 

You can buy costumes for your cats from the village's shop. These are for cosmetic purposes only, they do not act as armor. 

 

 

In Pororin village there's a secret shop. Travelling merchant Lacey sells earlier mentioned Sigil of Bonding, which makes your cat to follow you. But making this merchant spawn might be difficult, it's totally RNG. It took me a long time to make her appear. Some people say she's most likely to spawn on mornings. She walks around the village streets in a circle, just like the other shais with heavy loads on their shoulders. If she's not around, just teleport away and back.

 

 

If you have done everything in this guide, and all cat related activities still don't work properly, just save and reload. That worked for me.
