When it comes to Divinity: Original Sin 2 I'm all about Pooper. Who is Pooper you might ask?
On our first playthrough of Divinity Original Sin 2 (affiliate link) I fell in love with a chicken named Peeper. Of course I nicknamed him Pooper. We made the painstaking effort of bringing him alive all the way to the game's end. It was not easy because Peeper kept getting killed during fights.
For years I wanted to play the game again, this time streaming the whole Pooper experience. And this time, it's all about Pooper.
Divinity Original Sin 2: Counting your Chickens
So what is Peeper's story?
The player encounters a chicken named Big Marge, and receives a quest named Counting your Chickens from her (you of course need the talent Pet Pal for this). Her eggs have been stolen, and it's up to you to retrieve them. But when you find the eggs, only one remains. All the others are dead, or become Voidwoken.
The player returns the sole egg (Peeper) to Big Marge, and she will hatch it.
But when the player returns to Marge later, she is dead, and so are all the other chicken. Except Peeper. He is the only survivor of a blootbath, and starts to follow the player.
Did Peeper really kill his mother Marge, and his family? Don't believe the nasty rumors.
The player will then be tasked to take Peeper to his monster of a father Magicockerel. Don't do it! If you do that, the Magicockerel will want his "evil" son dead.
Although the player is also given the option to kill Peeper themself... are you really that evil?
Some might argue that Peeper is evil, but evil chicken need love too.
And by the way, in my opinion this game still needs a trophy/achievement for bringing Peeper alive to the game's end, to the boat. If I'm on a boat, then Peeper needs to be too! And now we have done it, twice!
I have never wanted anything more than to be Peeper's mama... A proud parent, you might say.
Is DOS2 too easy? Try keeping Peeper alive for the whole playthrough!
