There are cats and dogs in Red Dead Online, but you can only pet the dogs, not the cats. How unfair is that? I'm looking at you, Rockstar!
You can also get a camp dog, but not a cat. Of course even the camp dog
is totally useless, but at least you can pet it. It's especially useful
when petting a dog is a daily challenge, so then it's easy gold.
Enjoy the high quality photos of cats in the game?
I only play Red Dead Online during snow time. I get so easily addicted to it, and when snow ends I have to force myself to quit. Just doing the daily challenges could be a full time job.
So what is Red Dead Online all about? And how it compares to Red Dead Redemption 2's story mode? In my opinion they both have their pros and cons. In story mode you don't have to suffer from other people, but Arthur's ending will most likely break your heart.
In Online there are different roles to choose from. Collector, moonshiner, bounty hunter, trader, naturalist. These all require gold to start. And when you first start the game, getting gold is a frustratingly slow progress. Some years ago it was much easier and faster to get gold in Red Dead Online, but then it was nerfed. So that players would buy gold with real money. Best way to get gold early on is to keep doing daily challenges, and keep that streak going for a maximum of 28 days. Before even that was better, it didn't go back to zero after 28 days...
Common opinion is that Red Dead Online has been dead for years now. Rockstar doesn't update it anymore, so don't expect any new content being released. Nonetheless there are still lots of people who play it and enjoy it, myself included. And every Tuesday something "new" arrives to the game... be it more exp for some role, or even a new piece of clothing... which all suck, by the way. Even the very few dresses.
In general I hate online multiplayer games, because people are so mean to each other. Luckily in Read Dead Online this is a less common problem, and most of the time I'm able to roam freely, without being killed by evil players. But when it does happen I'm once again so disappointed in humanity. Why can't you be nice to each other? Even if you own life sucks, don't spread the hate around. And most of the time the killing even happens when I'm afk. What's is so much fun in killing idle, helpless players? I just don't understand it. I'm always so surprised and even shocked if someone treats me nicely.
